Phi Theta Kappa Grant
The
St. Norbert College Phi Theta Kappa Grant is an award up to $2,000 per
academic year, given IN ADDITION to any other merit awards received. A

is not required.

Special Notes for Transfer Students
For students interested in transfer for the spring term (January – May 2012): If
you were accepted to St. Norbert College’s Class of 2015 and chose a
different school, you are still eligible to receive the first-year
scholarship that you were awarded upon acceptance.
For students interested in transfer for the fall term (August – December 2012): Please be aware that there is a Priority Registration Period
for transfer students that is unique to those applying for transfer with
a fall term start date. This registration period will take place from Tuesday, May 1 through Thursday, June 14, 2012. Those students who have declared their intention to enroll at St. Norbert may
register for their fall term classes before the incoming Class of 2016.
Though applications for transfer will still be accepted after this
period, students may find that many courses will have been filled with limited availability in remaining courses.
Additional Notes on Transfer Credit
St. Norbert College maintains transfer credit guides for a variety of two- and four-year school schools across the country. The guides are not comprehensive and only list coursework that has previously transferred to St. Norbert College from these institutions. The Office of the Registrar is the final authority on what will transfer to St. Norbert. Unofficial reviews of college credit are available on a case-by-case basis.
St. Norbert College has a number of transfer credit policies. Credit for college-level work is granted in all areas that correspond to courses offered at St. Norbert as long as the student has earned at least a "C" for the course.
Readmission to
St. Norbert College
Whenever a student withdraws from
or stops attending St. Norbert College and then wishes to resume attending,
they MUST apply for readmission. Applications for readmission, along with any required supporting
documentation, must be submitted to the Office of Admission by the appropriate
deadlines – August 1 for the fall semester and January 1
for the spring semester. Readmission is not guaranteed for any student
and proper procedures must be followed before a student will be reconsidered.
Official details for the readmission process can be found at the following web
page:
READMISSION POLICIES &
PROCEDURES - http://www.snc.edu/registrar/readmit.htm.
Non-Degree
(Visiting) St. Norbert Students
Students
who wish to take one or more courses through St. Norbert College without
applying to pursue an SNC degree are considered to be “Non-Degree” students;
this includes any students who are currently attending another college or
university but wish to take a course at St. Norbert while remaining actively
enrolled at the other institution. These
students are frequently referred to as “visiting” students.
Admission
Process
Non-degree students
are required to complete a Non-Degree
Registration Form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar in order to take a
course through St. Norbert; no other admission requirements are generally
needed unless a student wishes to enroll in 12 or more credits during a
semester. If the course you wish to take
has prerequisites, you must prove that you meet them by submitting an official
transcript. Visiting students may want to determine probable course
availability prior to submitting their course registration. Contact one of the
following for assistance:
Non-Degree
Status Defined
If you attend
St. Norbert College as a visiting student, you will be considered non-degree
seeking; this is not the same as being admitted to a degree program at the
college. Courses you take as a non-degree-seeking student will count toward
your grade point average at St. Norbert College; however, there is no guarantee
the courses you take as a non-degree student will count toward your degree
should you be admitted to St. Norbert in the future. Non-degree
students may earn up to 16 credits before they are required to apply for admission.
All students planning to enroll full-time (12 or more credit hours), even
non-degree students, are required to apply for admission.
***NOTE - Any students intending to enroll as “part-time degree-seeking”
MUST follow regular admission procedures by submitting a complete application
for admission and all relevant transcripts.
Most non-degree
students are not eligible for financial aid. The Office of
Financial Aid
maintains information on the costs to attend St. Norbert College for the
current academic year.
Notes
on Class Registration
St. Norbert
College provides academic advisement for non-degree students. Please
contact the transfer student coordinator at 920-403-3969 or jim.stamatakos@snc.edu if you would
like to take advantage of this service.
Students can
search course offerings online through the Timetable of
Classes. The St. Norbert registrar’s office will
register non-degree students in their requested courses beginning on the first
day of open registration using the information provided on the Non-Degree Registration Form; if a
course is unavailable, students will be notified to make adjustments. Some courses at St. Norbert College have
various prerequisites, including only being available to students in a specific
program, so availability of classes is not guaranteed.
If you plan to
transfer your course to your current institution, please consult with that
school's registrar about course transferability. The Office of the
Registrar
can provide you with an official transcript.
Second
Bachelor's Degree
A student who has already received
one bachelor's degree, either from St. Norbert College or from another college
or university, may still receive a second bachelor's degree at St. Norbert
College. These students will be subject to all basic transfer student
degree requirements; including residency and transfer credit limits, even if
their first degree is from St. Norbert. For more specific information on
transfer policies, including degree residency requirements, please visit the
following web page:

PROCEDURES - http://www.snc.edu/registrar/transfer/Transfer_Policies.htm

Students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in an area other than
education and wish to obtain teaching certification, are encouraged to contact Dr.
Robert Osgood, chair of teacher education, to
