About the nursing program

The St. Norbert College and Bellin College of Nursing partnership provides more choices and more opportunities for students interested in health sciences, especially those who value a liberal arts foundation and a residential environment. It combines the best Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Wisconsin with one of the best comprehensive colleges in the Midwest.

Academic reputation
St. Norbert College and Bellin College of Nursing have reputations for academic excellence. Class sizes are small, individual attention is paramount and students are known by name.

St. Norbert has been preparing students for careers in health services for years. Its natural sciences division is prepared and aligned for developing undergraduate students for the rigors of these demanding but rewarding professions.

All Bellin College of Nursing faculty have nursing degrees and specialize in specific areas. Many of them continue to practice nursing while teaching, allowing the most current information to be shared with students.

Just minutes away
St. Norbert College and Bellin College of Nursing are located just 10 minutes' drive apart—less time than it takes to walk between classes on many college campuses. Students are not required to have cars, particularly in their first year, as most first-year classes and activities will take place on the St. Norbert College campus, where students will live. Both institutions are on the city bus line.

Cohort means community
When students enter the St. Norbert College and Bellin College of Nursing program, they become part of a small, personal community born out of shared experiences and goals. As a member of a cohort, nursing students will discuss issues, share ideas and have a common understanding of the rigors of the program. Surrounded by individuals with similar goals and motivations, the cohort experience will enhance the four-year college experience.

This cohort partnership offers a community of learning within a rich environment of student life, providing a truly integrated educational and social experience. You'll find an international learning community with goals for global impact—including the exploration and participation of faith, reason, ethics and the transformative experience of service.

Exceptional opportunities for nursing students:

  • Participation in a cohort of other nursing students, creating a supportive learning experience.
  • Study of human anatomy using human cadavers through St. Norbert College's biology program—an advantage not available at many institutions.
  • A mixture of science and the liberal arts—ensuring graduates have the capacity to solve problems, communicate effectively and work successfully within team settings.
  • Leadership development and service opportunities.
  • Hands-on clinical and lab experiences in hospitals, community health centers and outpatient settings.
  • Moral and ethical standards taught in a faith-based environment.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is the nursing degree that offers the best earning potential, options for working in a wide variety of specialty areas, and foundation for a Master of Science in Nursing (also offered by Bellin College of Nursing).
