Professional profile
A native of Grayslake, Illinois, Jim graduated from Marquette University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast/Electronic Communications. Jim worked in the Milwaukee radio market as an on-air personality and media researcher for nearly ten years prior to working in higher education.Jim enjoys moonlighting as a public address announcer for campus sporting events. As a student at Marquette, Jim announced for the Women’s Volleyball team. He also announced Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Basketball games at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois. Additionally, Jim served as a TV play-by-play voice for the Rockford College Regents football team in 2007. Be sure to look on the sidelines at the next SNC sporting event you attend…you may see (or hear) Jim there!
Favorite Place on Campus
Between Burke Hall and the Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center there is a bench that sits under a shade tree mere feet from the Fox River. Try spending some time there on a sunny day…I think you’ll agree with me that there’s no place like it on campus.
Advice to Students Looking at College
Take the opportunity to take some fun and interesting classes in college! SNC offers a ton…from Logic to courses like Medical Ethics and Soviet Dissident Literature! You can really broaden your horizons during your four years in college…don’t shy away from the opportunity.
