Summer Orientation Program

First Day

7:30-9:00 a.m. Registration/Refreshments • Madelaine/Lorraine Hall Lounge
Receive your orientation materials and meal card. Get your ID picture taken. If you have time afterwards, settle into your room and then take a quick walk around campus.

7:30 & 8:15 a.m. Optional Campus Tour • Meet outside Madelaine/Lorraine Hall
Guided tour of campus.

9:00-9:30 a.m. Welcome and Prayer • First Session: Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts Walter Theatre • All Other Sessions: Old St. Joe’s Church
Opening prayer by Campus Ministry, followed by an official welcome by President Thomas Kunkel and then announcements by orientation staff.

Jeffrey Frick, vice president for academic affairs, discusses the SNC honor code and academic expectations for all SNC students.

10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Writing Placement Exam • Cofrin Hall, Room 11
This essay places you in your first college composition class. Required for all students. Please bring your packet of materials.

All new students must attend this session to complete necessary surveys prior to starting in the fall.

Fr. Jay Fostner and Cindi Barnett talk with parents about the key concepts that parents need to know about St. Norbert College and what's important to talk about with students before coming back to campus in August.

9:15-10:00 a.m. Residential Education & Housing and Dining Services • Old St. Joseph Church
Staff from Residential Education & Housing and Dining Services provide information on residential living and learning, meal plans, and campus dining options.

Feel free to stop by the Alumni and Parent Relations office at the Alumni House for coffee, use a computer lab in Cofrin Hall or relax by the river near the RVDHF Campus Center.
