Michels Hall

About Michels
Michels Hall is a three-story, coeducational hall, housing 118 students. Fourteen suite-style rooms are available to groups of eight students. The staff consists of three resident assistants, one assistant hall director and one hall director. All are live-in positions.

There is a central lobby with a television, kitchen and study tables. Study rooms are located on each floor. Laundry and vending machines are available on the first floor.

The chapel of Norbertine Saints is located on the first floor. Mass is held once a week and private reflection throughout the week is encouraged.

3 Ships service program
Each suite of Michels Hall participates in the 3 Ships service program. Michels Hall is the only residence hall with a unique group service project. The 3 Ships project is a living/learning service opportunity available to sophomores, juniors and seniors living in the hall.

3 Ships began with two project teams in 1999-2000, and continues to grow. Students apply for the program in teams of 8 and identify a faculty or staff advisor who will work along-side them throughout the academic year to provide service to the campus or greater Brown County communities (or both), in an area of scholarship, citizenship or leadership.

The program lets students identify an issue important to them, and work together to address the issue over the course of an academic year. It is hoped that students participating in 3 Ships will have an opportunity to "dip their foot in the pool" of a life-long commitment to service.
