Lottery Numbers

The assignment process is based on a lottery number assigned randomly by class standing.  Students will receive a randomly assigned lottery number that determines priority for selecting housing for the 2014-2015 academic year.  Lottery numbers will be available to view in Knightline.  Senior numbers begin with a (SR), Juniors with an (JR), and Sophomores with a (SO).  Seniors have priority in the selection of housing options.  Seniors and Juniors have priority in the seven residence halls.   Students are not permitted to exchange lottery numbers.

Lottery Numbers are assigned based on credits completed by January, 2014, not the number of years attending St. Norbert. The lower your lottery number, the better your standing will be in housing placement.   Within the credit range, a random lottery number is assigned.

Sophomore Lottery Number: Less than 44.999 Credits Completed

Junior Lottery Number: Between 45 and 71.999 Credits Completed

Senior Lottery Number: More than 72 Credits Completed

Lotter Number Appeals

Students who have concerns or questions about their lottery numbers can complete an online appeal form.   Students cannot appeal for a better number within the same class standing.  Appeals need to be submitted at least three class days before a housing application deadline. A Housing Appeals Committee will review all lottery number appeals. Appeals will not be reviewed on the day submitted. The last date to submit lottery number appeals is Thursday, February 6, 2014. The appeal form is located in Knightline under Student Services, Residential Education and Housing, Continuing Housing Selection Process, Housing Appeal – Lottery Number.

*Students who were juniors during the 2013-2014 academic year who actually lived (moved in  August, 2013) in Burke, MMM, Michels, Sensenbrenner or VMC are eligible to appeal their senior lottery number if it is SR500 or above.
