Lottery Numbers

The assignment process is based on a lottery number assigned randomly by class standing.  Students will receive a randomly assigned lottery number that determines priority for selecting housing for the 2013-2014  academic year.  Lottery numbers will be available to view in Knightline.  Senior numbers begin with a (SR1 or SR2), Juniors with an (JR), and Sophomores with a (SO).  Seniors have priority in the selection of housing options.  Seniors and Juniors have priority in the seven residence halls.

Lottery Numbers are assigned based on credits completed by February, 2013, not the number of years attending St. Norbert. The lower your lottery number, the better your standing will be in housing placement.

Sophomore Lottery Number:   Less than 40.999 Credits Completed
Junior Lottery Number:   Between 41 and 71.999 Credits Completed
Senior Lottery Number:   More than 72 Credits Completed

Appeals

Students who have concerns or questions about their lottery numbers can complete an online appeal form.  Appeals need to be submitted at least three class days before a housing application deadline. A Housing Appeals Committee will review all lottery number appeals. Appeal will not be reviewed on the day submitted. The last day to submit lottery number appeals is Monday, April 8, 2013. The appeal form is located in Knightline on the Continuing Student Housing Selection Process Page (Housing Appeal Form).

Students who participated in the Study Abroad Program during the Fall, 2012 term may not have a lottery number that reflects their class standing for 2013-2014. Earned credits may not have been received yet by the Registrar's Office from the place of study. Contact the Residential Education and Housing about the process for being assigned a different number if earned credits have not been received.
