Semester Break Housing 2009
 
Residence Halls (Bergstrom, Burke, Madelaine/Lorraine, Michels, MMM, Sensenbrenner, VMC)

For Semester Break, St. Norbert College residence halls are closed and locked on Saturday, December 19th at Noon to all students who are not registered for semester break housing. Students who are applying for housing over semester break may stay in Any Residence Hall if a semester break housing application is submitted. Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 11, 2009 to the Department of Residential Education and Housing. The halls will reopen to all St. Norbert College students on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00am

Carriage House, College Houses, Convent, Gries, Rectory, Riverside, Townhouses, and Vander Zanden

Students living in any College House, Apartment, or Townhouse over break must fill out a notification form. Forms must be submitted by Friday, December 18, 2009 to the Department of Residential Education and Housing.  While there is no additional housing fee to stay in any of these areas, students are required to keep paying their utility fee during break.

A written notice must be provided to the Department of Residential Education and Housing one week in advance for a cancellation of the contract.

Hall Closing Instructions

Halls close: Saturday, December 19th, 2009 at 12:00 p.m.
Halls open: Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.

IN ORDER TO PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, PLEASE REMEMBER TO DO THE FOLLOWING THINGS:

Open drapes
Lock all windows including storm windows
Empty all wastebaskets
Unplug all appliances (including refrigerators, fish tanks, computers, and microwaves)
All refrigerators need to be emptied and cleaned.  Leave refrigerator door open. (except Michels)
Turn off all lights
Make sure heat registers are exposed
Remove all perishable food items
If you will not be returning for the spring semester, return your loft and sign up for check out with RA

Rooms will be checked to make sure that the above precautions have been taken.  Outside doors will be locked and secured at all times.  You may NOT enter your room after the halls are closed unless you have applied to be here over break.
