Summer Housing Process 2013Summer housing spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Summer housing is available from Saturday, May 11th, 2013 to Saturday, August 3, 2013. The deadline for applying for summer housing is Friday, May 3, 2013. After that date, your application will be considered based on availability. Summer Housing OptionsSensenbrenner Hall (Summer Housing)Sensenbrenner will be the summer housing residence hall. It will be available from Friday, May 17th until Saturday, August 3rd. From Saturday, May 11th until Friday, May 17th students will remain in their current placements (Townhouse 1-5 residents and Carriage House 102 and 303 residents will be temporarily placed elsewhere). Cost is: $14.50 per day and space is limited. Burke Hall (May Term Only)Burke Hall will be used for students only staying through Mayterm. It will be available from Sunday, May 12th, 2013 to Saturday, June 1st, 2013. – Cost is $14.50 per day and space is limited. Remaining in a Townhouse or College-Owned house (Mayterm only)Students who are currently living in a college-owned house or townhouse and are planning to take Mayterm classes may apply to stay in their current assignment past Tuesday, May 14th, 2013. The latest students may stay in those assignments is Saturday, June 1, 2013 unless they are completing a student teaching assignment. The resident’s student teaching schedule will determine the length of their housing extension. Please note that some Townhouses may not be available due to conferences that may be booked for the summer. If you know of someone that is living in a college owned house or townhouse that is also staying for Mayterm AND has extra space from people that have left, you may request to move in with that person until June 1st, 2103. The cost to remain in a college owned house or townhouse is $18.50 per day. Utilities are included. Remaining in Gries Hall (Mayterm only)Students who are currently assigned to Gries Hall must move out by Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 at 12:00 pm. For those students who are currently in Gries and also assigned to Gries for next academic year, they can make a request to stay in Gries past the 15th. Please note on your application that you qualify for this and a staff member from the Office of Residential Education and Housing will contact you to work out the logistics of your move from this year’s placement to next year’s placement. The cost to remain in Fr. Gries Hall after May 15th until the June 1st lease start date will be $18.50 per day. Summer Process/InformationSummer Meal PlanFor those students staying on campus during the summer, there are some meal plan options available. To find information or sign up for a summer meal plan, please visit the Campus Card website. Summer Housing Check-InStudents will check in with a summer staff member. Summer residents moving into Sensenbrenner, Burke, a Townhouse or College Owned house for the summer directly from their academic year assignment will be contacted by Residential Education and Housing when their room is available. Students must move out of their academic year assignment within 24 hours of being notified that their summer room is available (if applicable for summer, 2013). BillingSummer housing billing begins on Saturday, May 11th, 2013. Housing will be charged on a daily basis – except for those students starting their Gries lease on June 1st, 2013. Students will be charged according to the dates requested on the summer housing application. A one week notice in writing is required to the Department of Residential Education and Housing in order to void the summer housing contract. Summer Housing CheckoutAll students need to check out according to the date indicated on the summer housing form or by Saturday, August 4th, 2013. A check out time needs to be scheduled with the summer housing assistant or the Department of Residential Education and Housing. A staff member will check the room condition, collect keys and verify that the room is clean. If a student fails to check out on the date and time indicated on the application, a $75 improper checkout fine will be assessed. Please Note:
