Duties: St. Norbert College welcomes applications for a tenure-line appointment for Assistant Professor of Education. The position begins August 2010. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in elementary and middle school education and provide service to the Education discipline and local schools. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in Educating Students with Disabilities and one additional area of expertise. The candidate must be a willing collaborator with colleagues in Teacher Education at St. Norbert in both the public and the private P-12 schools. The successful candidate will work in the P-12 community developing, maintaining, and supervising practicum experiences aligned with the courses taught.
Experience: The preferred candidate will have a significant concentration or graduate degree in Special Education and have completed or nearly completed a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in an educational field. The candidate must be certified or eligible for certification and have 3 years successful teaching experience at the elementary/middle school level. Practical experience integrating technology and a variety of media into teaching is desirable.
