Duties: St. Norbert College invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology beginning in August 2013. Teaching responsibilities will include developmental biology and cell-level introductory biology courses, with the ability to teach genetics or molecular biology. The opportunity exists to develop courses in the candidate's area of expertise as electives for upper-level biology majors and students in the College's core curriculum program. Each course includes a laboratory component, and typical course load is two per semester. Productive research that provides meaningful experiences for St. Norbert College undergraduates is expected. Additional responsibilities include advising students and being an active member of the College community.
Experience: Candidates with experience studying developmental processes in model systems including zebra fish, C. elegans, or Drosophila are encouraged to apply. A demonstration of teaching effectiveness will be part of the interview process. A Ph.D. in Biology or a related field is required at the time of appointment; postdoctoral experience is preferred.
