Building Trust

Overview
When there is a lack of trust, people base their actions on assumptions and fears rather than on facts, because mistrust comes from what people don't know as well as what they do know.

When trust exists, people are willing to ask for help, talk openly and honestly about issues and concerns, take risks, and accept new challenges.

Objective
This course is designed to provide effective tools to help you play your important role in building trust in your daily interactions.  It will show you common pitfalls as well as actions you can take to build trust.

Program Outline:

In this program, you will:
  • become aware of your important role in building trust at St. Norbert College.
  • learn how to recognize and avoid actions that commonly damage trust.
  • learn techniques for building trust with your coworkers, team, customers, leaders, and others.
  • be able to take specific actions every day to strengthen trust in your personal interactions.
