The Innovation Studio is a place where faculty can explore the intersection of teaching, learning, and technology. It's a place to learn about technology, as well as brainstorm ways to improve the teaching and learning process with technology. We have an extensive - and growing - list of online resources that may also be helpful to you.
Because the Innovation Studio supports teaching and learning, the primary - but not exclusive - users of the facility are College faculty members. We're here to discuss educational uses of technology and help you
identify and implement technologies in the teaching and learning
process. Users of the Innovation Studio can attend a workshop, schedule a 1 to 1 training session, or just drop-in during our open hours. We can also visit you in your office, and we'll even come to your class and teach your students about a particular technology you're planning to use.
As you work with the various technologies on campus, don't forget about the many instructional documents that are available from Information Technology Services.
The Innovation Studio sponsors a user group:
- iPad User Group: The iPad User Group is open to anyone, even if you don't have an iPad. We discuss apps, the iOS operating system, tips and tricks, answer questions, and also talk about how the iPad - and other mobile devices - are changing how people learn, and consume, information.
Meeting time: We usually meet at 12:30 PM on the last Wednesday of each month during the Fall and Spring semesters. As with the Moodle User Group, meetings may be changed to accommodate the semester teaching schedule. Meeting times are announced to the iPad Users distribution list, posted in the news section (on the right side of this page), and also tweeted from the Innovation Studio @sncinnovation Twitter account.
If you have suggestions for other user groups, please contact Jay. Contact information is at the bottom of the page.
During the Fall and Spring semesters, the Innovation Studio sponsors a
variety of events (e.g., webinars, workshops, open labs, user groups)
for our College faculty members. These events are announced on the
Innovation Studio homepage and if you plan to attend an event, we ask
that you register for it. We also use the studio for some of our technology workshops.
If you'd like to schedule an appointment, please contact Jay.
The Innovation Studio is located in room 305 of the Mulva Library on the St. Norbert College
campus and is managed by Jay Cook. His office is in Cofrin 106, and he can be contacted at (920) 403-3973. To email the studio, use email@example.com or follow us on Twitter @sncinnovation. We're looking forward to working with you!
