Computer/Device Repair

The ITS Service Desk provides computer repair support for students, faculty, and staff.

Students

Make the ITS Service Desk your first stop for help with all of your computing needs. If you are having trouble with your computer (or tablet, smartphone, etc), we want to help. While you can certainly call us (920-403-4040) or email us (servicedesk@snc.edu), it is often most effective if you simply bring your device to us at the ITS Service Desk. We can quickly diagnose and usually resolve issues related to software, operating system, or malware. Our services are paid for via the technology fee; no charges are incurred at the time of service.

While we can help diagnose hardware problems, we do not perform hardware repair for student-owned computers. We recommend that you first follow appropriate steps as defined in your warranty. We also have an agreement with UES Computers, which allows you to leave your computer with us at the Service Desk and they will pick it up. UES will then contact you directly to provide an estimate, do the repair (if you so choose), and deliver it back to the Service Desk. Any charges must be paid directly to UES. If you'd like to take advantage of this service, please complete the Student Device Service Request, and drop off your computer at the ITS Service Desk. If you prefer, you can also just contact UES Computers directly at 920-403-7800 and bring your computer there.

Loaner laptops are available for checkout at the Mulva Library; please contact the library for availability.

Faculty/Staff

The ITS Service Desk is your first stop for help with all of your computing needs. We provide support for all college-owned computers and devices that were purchased through the ITS Service Desk. Per the Technology Purchasing section of our Computer Refresh Policy, we are only able to provide support for devices that were purchased through ITS.

If you are having trouble with your computer, please contact us. If it's a laptop or other portable device, often it's most effective to bring it to us. If the issue is software-related (operating system, installed apps, malware), we can usually resolve it quickly. If, however, the issue is hardware-related, sometimes we're able to fix it, sometimes we ship it to a vendor for work. Often times, such work is covered under warranty. All charges incurred for hardware repair will be billed to the requesting department.
