St. Norbert College lllegal Substance Sanctions

Status Offense Sanctions
Sanction for First Status Offenses
  • Report placed in student’s conduct file in the Office of Residential Life and in the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students.
  • Disciplinary Probation for the duration of the student’s enrollment at the College which may prohibit the student from representing the College in any official capacity (i.e., athletics, officer position, etc.).
  • Completion of an alcohol and drug assessment with the Lead Psychologist or designee of the Counseling and Testing division of Wellness and Health Services.  The student sanctioned to complete an AODA assessment must contact the appointment desk at 403-3266 within two business days after notification to schedule an appointment. Students who don’t keep the scheduled appointment will be charged $50.00. The student must complete any and all recommendations resulting from the assessment within the time period specified by the assessor.
  • Notification of parents/guardians (via phone call) by the Director of Residential Education and Judicial Affairs or the Assistant Dean for Campus Life.
  • Minimum $200.00 fine.
Sanction for Second Status Offenses
  • Report placed in student's conduct files.
  • Disciplinary Probation for the duration of the student’s enrollment at the College which may prohibit the student from representing the College in any official capacity (i.e., athletics, officer position, etc.).
  • Probable dismissal from the College for a minimum of one full semester in addition to the current semester, depending on the seriousness of the problem as determined by the Assistant Dean for Campus Life.
  • Notification of and meeting with parents/guardians as coordinated by the Assistant Dean for Campus Life.
Sanction for Third Status Offenses
  • Automatic, immediate dismissal from SNC for a minimum of one calendar year.
  • Reinstatement contingent upon satisfactory completion of any recommendations from that assessment. Written document from the treatment facility must be forwarded to the Lead Psychologist for review after which the Lead Psychologist will forward a recommendation regarding reinstatement to the Assistant Dean for Campus Life.
