Widely recognized as one of the foremost scholars on the life and institutions of Premonstratensian women in the middle ages, Shelley Amiste Wolbrink has done much to illuminate the early history and spirituality of the Norbertine sisters and their place in medieval church and society. In addition to her publications on the Norbertines and other medieval topics, Professor Wolbrink has lectured and published widely in the area of women, religion and gender issues. The recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, most recently in 2008 the Drury University Faculty Award for Teaching, since 1998 she has successfully combined her work as an active scholar with a deep dedication to teaching in a liberal arts environment at Drury University.
