Belgian Pie-Making Class
You can experience “a piece” of local Belgian culture, the Belgian Pie!
St. Norbert College Language Services is presenting a Belgian pie-making workshop. In this one-Saturday workshop, Door County native and Belgian pie expert Gina Wautier will reveal the history behind the pastry.
Students will learn how to make several kinds of Belgian pies in a hands-on setting. Students should come prepared to feast on the pies made during class. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome.
The Belgian pie is a sweet raised dough crust that is filled with several variations. Fillings consist of either a baked rice mixture similar to rice pudding topped with whipping cream or a fruit center of prunes, apples, or raisins with a cheesecake like topping made from blended cottage cheese.
Class sizes are limited to ensure maximum hands-on participation!
