The Center for Norbertine Studies is a collaborative partnership of the college and the Norbertine order. It houses a wealth of rare books and manuscripts, art and other artifacts related to the life of Norbert of Xanten and to the order he founded.

All Things Norbertine

The wealth of resources from and about the Norbertine Order, which founded the college, is one of the jewels of the entire St. Norbert College library collection. Through search tools, expertise and in-house collections, the Center for Norbertine Studies (CNS) and the Mulva Library offer you the premier location, worldwide, for delving into monastic life of the Premonstratensians and the intellectual contributions of the Order.

Mine the Complexities of Religion & Time
The Norbertine Order collection has three primary subsets:

  • In the CNS, you will find general and contemporary works associated with the order, its abbeys, its organizational structure, and the works of Norbertine writers.
  • In the archives and special collections, you will gain mediated access to the rare and specialized materials which date back to 1461.
  • In the main collection of the Mulva Library, you will find general works on the history of Catholic and other Christian denominations, histories and philosophies of religious schools of thought, and the lives and works of spiritual figures.
