Extending Classroom Walls
Course reserves function as an extension of the classroom. Copies of assigned readings, supplemental readings, previous tests and other materials are made available for short-term loan (print copies) or are scanned and made available as PDFs to enrich the learning experience.
There are two types of reserve materials:
- Traditional reserves consist of physical copies of items. These materials are located behind the library information desk and circulate for a limited time. They may be checked out for 2-hour, one-day, two-day or one-week periods depending on the preference of your instructor. Reserve listings can be accessed from the catalog. Reserve materials must be returned to the information desk.
- Electronic reserves consist of items accessed via the catalog, including links to articles in any of the library’s full-text databases. They are available in PDF format.
