Resources and services for faculty

Welcome to the Todd Wehr Library! The library is open 108 hours per week. Hours for the academic year, holidays and interim periods are posted at the entrance, on the library homepage and via a 24-hour phone recording at (920) 403-3280.

Circulation services

• The loan period for faculty is one semester. Items may be renewed once in person, via e-mail, by calling (920) 403-3466 or through the online catalog.
• Recalls of checked out materials can be requested at the circulation desk. Faculty are responsible for prompt return of materials when recalled.
• Library notices are sent via e-mail to the faculty’s St. Norbert College e-mail account.
• Student assistants may be authorized to conduct library business in the name of faculty. An authorized assistant form is available at the circulation desk, via e-mail or by calling (920) 403-3293.
• Printing is free in the library. Copiers are located near the circulation desk.

Interlibrary loan (ILL) services

Cooperative agreements enable the interlibrary loan department to obtain needed materials not held in the Todd Wehr Library collection. The library can obtain most books, articles, microfilm, etc. from other institutions, with most items arriving within one week of request.

Submit a request. Notification of pick-up will be made through your St. Norbert College e-mail account. Renewal requests for ILL materials must be placed before the due date. For more information, contact Connie Meulemans at (920) 403-3283 or connie.meulemans@snc.edu.

Library instruction services

Faculty are encouraged to bring their classes to the library during class time for instruction or arrange for a librarian to come to their class for instruction in using research materials and electronic resources. Librarians will work with faculty to design a course integrated library session to complement goals of the course or to be a component of a specific assignment. Research consultations are available by appointment to faculty and students for any research need. This service is recommended for assistance in learning to use a specific electronic database or when planning an in-depth research strategy. Library Acquisitions

To support collection development, each academic discipline appoints a library liaison to work with a corresponding librarian liaison. Each discipline is allocated an annual expenditure fund for the purchase of books. View a list of the current liaisons.

Faculty may order books using the book order form (Word format). Submit your completed forms as email attachments to acquisitions@snc.edu. Faculty may also make suggestions outside of their discipline by completing the collection suggestion form found in SNORCAT.

Book reviews are found in CHOICE. New reviews are added monthly. Questions concerning library acquisitions can be directed to Sally Cubitt or (920) 403-4090.
