Recollection Wisconsin provides digital access to cultural heritage resources that reside in institutions around the state. An ever-growing number of libraries, archives, museums and historical societies are providing digital forms of photographs, manuscripts, books, articles, sound recordings, diaries, artwork and artifacts to the program. Currently, there are more than 55,000 such resources available through the Recollection Wisconsin portal from various Wisconsin archive collections. St. Norbert College features over 8,000 photographs from past events on the Recollection Wisconsin website. We also feature the first 10 yearbooks and catalogs on the portal. The St. Norbert College Archives team is constantly adding new information to the website. Letters of Father Adalbert Inama, O. Praem
Father Inama of Wilten Abbey was an important missionary priest in the 19th century in Wisconsin. His correspondence are a valuable and interesting source for the religious and cultural history of the people he served.
St. Norbert Archives is the home of the Collection of Father Gartner's letters and diaries of his missionary work, which he wrote while traveling throughout Europe with Father Inama. Gartner's Diaries: Volumes 1-10
J.R.R. Tolkien Collection
In November 2012, Professor Dr. Robert Boyer donated his personal correspondence of J.R.R. Tolkien to the St. Norbert College Special Collections. The collection includes J.R.R. Tolkien's letters to Dr. Robert Boyer,one handwritten, one typed - no reference to any literary work, references to W.H. Auden. Also donated was a letter from Humphrey Carpenter requesting permission to use Dr. Boyer's letter from Tolkien within a book he had been collaborating with Christopher Tolkien.
Lloyd Alexander Collection
In August 2012, Professor Robert Boyer donated his personal collection of Lloyd Alexander's published works. The collection also includes correspondences between Boyer and Alexander, including Christmas cards and letters. Lloyd Alexander had been a very successfull author in young adult fantasy literature. His works include, "Time Cat," "Chronicals of Prydain," and the "Golden Dreams of Carlo Chuchio."
F.G. Parmentier Music Collection
Francis Gordon Parmentier, composer and native of Green Bay, who attended St. Norbert College, collection was donated to St. Norbert College Archives after his passing in 2008. Parmentier served in the military in France during World War II. After completing his military service, he attended the Sorbonne Conservatory of Music in Paris and received an advanced degree in music composition.
St. Norbert College Artifacts
St. Norbert objects made by a human being, typically an item of cultural or historical interest are within this collection. This special class of archival material, usually physical items used in dedications of buildings, anniversary events, or items produced by college departments to publicize their respective areas. They are also called 'realia'.
Des Peres Yearbooks

St. Norbert's Mulva Library Online Catalog
The library, which is the center of student academic life on campus, houses more than 247,000 volumes, including books, journals and other serials, microforms, maps and chart. Over 3,000 volumes are added to the collection each year. Most volumes are avaliable and searchable through the Mulva Library Online Catalog. >>MORE
