Kristin Vogel is the director of the Miriam B. and James J. Mulva Library. Kristin drives the strategic direction of the library and oversees budget allocation, personnel, and services there. She enjoys facilitating the work of the team of librarians and library staff to ensure that the library exceeds expectations. In Kristin’s role, she collaborates closely with the library advisory committee to foster a mutual understanding of needs for library collections, services and space.
As the director of the library, Kristin has had the privilege of networking with librarians across the globe to share her expertise and learn from her international colleagues. Kristin has traveled on a Fulbright grant to Bahrain to work with the National Library and the University of Bahrain. Other travel opportunities have taken her to Uganda and Ghana to work with academic librarians there. In addition, she has worked with visitors from Brazil, Colombia, Latvia, Mexico, Nigeria, Romania, Vietnam, and beyond. Closer to home, she serves in elected positions one the statewide WiLS board and the national Catholic Research Resources Alliance (CRRA) board.
On campus Kristin serves as a member of the dean’s council and convenes the big ideas group, which is the college innovation initiative. As a member of the campus community, Kristin volunteers her time for SNC Day and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Off campus, Kristin is a board member for the De Pere Cultural Center, a new initiative of the Mulva Family Foundation.
