What is plagiarism?

According to the OED (Oxford English Dictionary) Online Version, plagiarism is ... "The action or practice of taking someone else's work, idea, etc., and passing it off as one's own; literary theft."

According to Wikipedia, plagiarism is defined as.... "the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work."

Plagiarism is against the academic code of conduct at St. Norbert College. To avoid plagiarizing someone else's work, you need to cite your sources.
