CIA World Factbook
The CIA World Factbook provides information about countries worldwide, including international disputes, literacy rates, land area and much more. This version also includes maps.

Constitutions, treaties, and official declarations
A wide array of documents, arranged by country and by topic.

Country Studies / Area Handbooks
Information on countries worldwide, from the Library of Congress's well-known print publications.

Foreign and International Law Web
Provides links to primary foreign and international legal resources, research aids and sites useful in conducting research in these areas of the law. Arranged by country, topic and searchable.

Foreign Government Resources on the Web
A well-organized and searchable meta-site leading to information about foreign countries, including government web sites, country background, laws, treaties, etc., embassies, news, statistics and international agencies.

International Data Base
The International Data Base (IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic and socio-economic data for all countries of the world.

Portals to the World
Detailed information and further links to international countries, brought to us by the Library of Congress.

UNESCO
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization provides information on its organization, activities, current events, programs, publications, statistics, legal procedures, databases and other information. Includes portions of the World Information Report, among others.

United Nations
UN information on events, publications, documents, databases, and members, regarding human rights, peace and security, economic and social development, and international law. See also the United Nations CyberSchoolBus for information on global trends, countries, cities, etc., especially "InfoNation".

World Bank
A collection of papers, reports, addresses, country information, etc. from an organization which attempts to presents the solutions to persistent global problems, highlighting human development, environmentally sustainable development and private sector development.

World Population Figures
There's a large collection of data at this site, ranging from country profiles (provinces and main cities) to the highest mountains in the world, to a list of all countries in the world with their capitals, surface area and population. Includes 3 sections: Global Population Data, Charts of the World and Country Profiles.

This site contains audio speeches from prominent and infamous Americans. Available within the site is a free copy of "Audioplayer" software to download to your PC.

Historical Text Archive
This site, covering much of human history, provides access to a wide variety of historical documents, with original material, links to other sites and electronic reprints of books. It is organized by geography/nations and topics, and is searchable.

U.S. Historical Documents
This source is a gopher list of varied documents from the Declaration of Arms, 1775 to WWII.
