Phantom Knight School of Opportunity Research Guide

Students Welcome to the Miriam B. & James J. Mulva Library! Hours are posted at the entrance, on the library homepage and via a 24-hour phone recording at (920) 403-3280.

We've compiled some useful information for you, including a how-to guide that shows you how to checkout materials and use the library's equipment like photocopiers and microfilm. There is also a large portion dedicated to showing you how to do research—from choosing a topic to evaluating your sources. Please let us know if there is anything else that you would find helpful. Databases

Use these databases to find information on your topics. Below are a few of our newspaper, magazine and journal databases, in which you can find citations, abstracts and full text documents on your topics. For help with the databases, ask a librarian.

  • EBSCOhost Academic Search Complete Provides full text for over 1,250 journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multicultural studies, education and much more.
  • InfoTRAC Literature Resource Center (LRC)  Find up-to-date biographical information, overviews, full-text literary criticism and reviews on nearly 130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world. The optional MLA International Bibliography module adds citations for hundreds of thousands of books, articles and dissertations.
  • InfoTRAC OneFile  A source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and more. Includes full-text coverage of the New York Times back to 1995.
  • Lexis-Nexis  Academic Universe provides access to nearly 5,000 publications on a wide range of news, business, legal and reference information.
  • Points of View Reference Center POV is a full text database designed to provide students and schools with a series of controversial essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. Essays provide questions and materials for further thought and study and are accompanied by thousands of supporting articles from the world’s top political and societal publications.
  • ProQuest Criminal Justice Periodicals Indexes over 150 trade and scholarly journals in criminal justice and related fields. This index covers U.S., British and Canadian journals
  • ProQuest Historical New York Times  Full-text and full-image articles from the New York Times dating back to the 19th century.
