Leadership Apprentice Program
talking

The Apprentice Program is a practical leadership opportunity offered second semester for freshmen who completed the Emerging Leaders program. Apprenticeships allow students to gain valuable skills while contributing to a meaningful campus project.

The freshman student works one-on-one with an upper-class student on a large-scale campus project. This may also be an opportunity for the apprentice and department to see if there is a fit for future employment or a leadership role. Each apprentice must commit an average of 20 hours to the project and attend group meetings with other apprentices and coaches. He/she may take a role of committee chair, sub-committee chair, or a role the coach and apprentice define together.

Ideally, the apprenticeship will provide the apprentice with opportunities to test his/her leadership skills in the areas of: decision making, problem solving, how to understand and utilize new and existing systems, team skills and technology.

If you are interested in this program, or would like more information, please contact Amy Savaglia (Leadership Development Intern in LSE) at amy.savaglia@snc.edu. More information on actual apprenticeship sites will be available later in the semester.
