Commencement Streams Live Again This Year

Families and friends far from De Pere will be able to enjoy Commencement via live broadcast May 18.

Among those lauding the initiative will be international students and their families. Beginning last year, the live streaming option has allowed distant family members the chance to enjoy Commencement at their computer screen.

Bojan Francuz ’13, student speaker at last year’s ceremony, is from Serbia. He writes: “My family did watch the live stream and they appreciated it. Not every international student comes from a family that can afford to fly to the U.S. for graduation, no matter how prominent of a role their kid plays in Commencement.

“Live streaming is not only good for international students but also for students from other parts of the U.S. whose families are not able to be with them on that special day.”

Live streaming also benefits students’ extended families, housebound relatives and others who can join in the fun from off-campus locations. The service offers the opportunity to watch again at a later time.

“Thank you St. Norbert staff for making this possible,” posted SNC parent Denise Galineau, who joined in the conversation on the college’s Facebook page at this time last year.
