Bernadette Berken has had many articles published in professional publications about teaching science and mathematics using multicultural resources. Her book of mathematical activities, "Culture Counts: People, Patterns, and Pi, A Gallery of Artifacts and Activities" (translated into Hmong and Spanish) is used by K-12 Northeast Wisconsin educators to teach math from a cultural viewpoint and broaden the appeal of mathematics.
