Kevin Murphy

Professional profile
Kevin Murphy is an applied mathematician with a physics emphasis, but is interested in the applications of mathematics to all facets of daily life. His doctoral work involved self-interactions of subatomic particles known as gluons considered within the framework of point form QCD.

He is interested in mathematical modeling and is on the lookout for students interested in participating in COMAP’s annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). He also enjoys math games and puzzles emphasizing critical thinking and the lighter side of mathematics.
