
Professional profile
Kevin Murphy is an applied mathematician with a physics emphasis, but
is interested in the applications of mathematics to all facets of daily
life. His doctoral work involved self-interactions of subatomic
particles known as gluons considered within the framework of point form
QCD.
He is interested in mathematical modeling and is on the
lookout for students interested in participating in COMAP’s annual
Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). He also enjoys math games and
puzzles emphasizing critical thinking and the lighter side of
mathematics.
