Founder's Award
The Founder’s Award at St. Norbert College is given to employees of the College in recognition of their contributions to the Norbertine spirit and tradition on campus. In 2006, a student award was added.
Nominations for the award are invited from anyone on campus. A committee reviews the nominations and determines the award winner(s).
Community is the hallmark of the Norbertine experience. Selection of individuals for the Founders Award will be based upon their contributions to the College community as embodied through the one or more of the following principles:
-
Community: The individual demonstrates mutual respect and upholds the sacred dignity of all persons, especially embracing diversity in all forms. The individual treats others with a spirit of compassion, forgiveness and care. As a responsible citizen, the individual exhibits moral character, personal integrity and professionalism.
-
Spiritual commitment: The individual gives evidence of praying and celebrating with St. Norbert colleagues, and exemplifies the phrase “contemplatives in action.”
-
Service: The individual exhibits a generous spirit of support in meeting the needs of others, both within and outside the College community.
-
Collegiality: The individual works positively and collaboratively with others.
-
Learning community: The individual recognizes St. Norbert College as a liberal arts institution supporting education in many forms.
