Unable to Serve in the Community? You Can Still Help!

We recognize that not all employees are able to be away from the office. Do know that there are others ways you can participate? We are seeking the following donations:

Fleece

Fleece Blanket Project

Recipient

The staff from Advancement Services will be tying fleece blankets with our neighbors at Nicolet Highlands.

The blankets will be donated to House of Hope - a shelter for homeless pregnant and parenting women between the ages of 18 and 24, and their children.

Donation Needs

  • Fleece Fabric – Prints or solids used to make blankets for young mothers, babies and small children.
    • New or gently used.
    • Each blanket requires two pieces of coordinating fleece.
    • Blankets for the mothers will require each piece to measure 2 yards. Baby blankets require 1.5 yards and for small children 1.75 yards each piece.
    • Don’t hesitate to donate one piece of fabric as we can be very creative.
    • Jo-Ann Fabrics offers nice discounts on yard goods and often has half price blanket kits.
  • We can also accept a gift of cash for supplies and we will do the shopping for you.

Yarn

Knit for a Cause Project

Recipient

Staff from multiple departments will be making baby, child and adult hats.  Dishcloths will also be made and donated to local food pantries. Knitters and Crocheters welcome. Patterns are available if needed.

If a hat is difficult, we will still accept completed baby blankets for Love Life Ministries. The blankets should have a minimum completed size of 30 inches by 36 inches.

Please use acrylic or cotton yarn for the blankets (Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Cotton" works but not dishcloth cotton.) and acrylic for the hats.

The hats will be donated to Love Life ministries (baby), local elementary schools (child) and homeless shelters (adult) in the local area.

Donation Needs
  • New acrylic worsted weight yarn is needed.
    • Please only donate new yarn so we will know it has not been exposed to smoke, pets, etc., or contains wool.
    • Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" or Lion Brand "Vanna's Choice" are good choices.
  • We can also accept a gift of cash for supplies and we will do the shopping for you..
