Yarn

Love Life Ministry

Recipient
  • We are making blankets for Love Life Ministry. Love Life Ministry is an ecumenical outreach ministry which actively promotes respect for life by providing basic infant needs to low income families.
Donation Needs
  • New acrylic worsted weight yarn is needed.
    • Please only donate new yarn so we will know it has not been exposed to smoke, pets, etc., or contains wool.
    • Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" or Lion Brand "Vanna's Choice" are good choices.
    • Please choose soft yarn in baby/toddler/child appropriate colors.  Packer colors are also very welcome.
  • If you knit, we are also collecting 7” x 7” blanket pre-made squares to be made into blankets.  Squares may be knitted or crocheted.  If you need a template or patterns for the squares, please contact Maddie Kennedy at x3962 or at madelyn.kennedy@snc.edu.  If you are donating squares, please following these guidelines:
    • Only use new acrylic yarn
    • Use worsted weight yarn
    • Leave at least a 6” tail on the cast on side and the bind off side.  Do not weave in the ends.  We will use the tails to secure the squares together after the squares are crocheted together.
    • Please be sure squares are clean and do not have any pet hair, smoke smell, or perfume smell.
    • If you use more than one color of yarn in your square, it should be intentionally designed, not using up ends.  If you design a multi-color square, please make at least two of the same for design purposes.
    • Pin squares of the same color together.
    • Squares must measure 7” x 7” or as close as possible.  Oversized or undersized squares will not fit with other 7” x 7” squares.

Drop Off Location and Questions
