Tom Conner is Professor and Coordinator of Modern Languages and Literatures and joined the faculty in 1987. He was born and raised in Sweden but educated in France and in the U.S. He has served as Visiting Professor at the University of the Philippines-Diliman in the Philippines and at Nihon University, Japan.
He has authored and edited four books: "Chateaubriand’s Mémoires d’outre-tombe." A Portrait of the Artist as Exile (1995); Dreams in French Literature: The Persistent Voice (1996), André Gide’s Politics: Rebellion and Ambivalence (2000); Globalization Redux: New Name and Same Game (2004).

He is a frequent contributor to journals such as The French Review, Moderna Språk, Judisk Krönika and The NECTFL Review, for which he is the reviews editor. He is currently working on a book about French and German intellectuals in the 1930s.

In 1997, Dr. Conner received the Donald B. King award for outstanding scholarship at St. Norbert College. Dr. Conner teaches French language through French 203, Introduction to French Literature, French Civilization, and French Literature and Civilization in Translation.
