As a member of a cohort, you will engage in ongoing discussions with other professionals, becoming a community of learners. You’ll develop leadership skills while acquiring the knowledge and expertise necessary to advocate for educational reform within your chosen area of interest.
The program, consistent with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) new performance-based licensure system and career-long professional development expectations, offers a rigorous, field-based program with direct impact on classroom practice.
Designed to promote critical thinking and refine professional decision making, the program will provide insight into current educational issues through research and seminar discussions. You’ll engage in self-assessment as well as assessment of educational reform initiatives. You’ll design and implement an individual advocacy project culminating in the dissemination of your work in the public arena. When you’re finished, you’ll be better able to address diverse student needs and feel empowered to make meaningful change at your school.
