| Summer graduate courses
The Master of Science in Education program offers selected graduate courses at St. Norbert College. We are opening each of these courses to all interested K-12 teachers and other educators. Each course is three graduate credits. The following course(s) will be offered during the summer of 2011:
EDUC 589 Promoting Health and Wellness in the Classroom and Beyond (3 credits) - NOTE: THIS COURSE HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Two week - 3 credit course Monday through Friday Times: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
This course uses current research on promoting overall wellness, healthy nutrition, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle. It includes strategies to integrate movement into your classroom, field trips for hands-on learning, and the planning and cooking of healthy food. During this experience you will prepare an action research project designed to facilitate wellness in your classroom and/or in your school. In this course you will:
• Examine research based strategies for teaching wellness concepts to students • Learn the fundamentals of wellness and preventive health • Discover ways to promote healthy changes in the classroom • Analyze how healthy changes affect students’ well being • Understand how healthy life choices can improve academic achievement • Complete strategic planning to promote wellness in your classroom

Tuition and fees
• Tuition (per graduate credit) $440 (2012-14)
• Summer registration fee (nonrefundable) *$50
• Technology fee $26.25 per course
