Library areas The library will be divided into five general sections on three floors.
Primary Public Access
The public entry near the northeast corner of the building will face Third Street and the center of campus. The lobby leads to a primary circulation route, with a secondary entrance at the opposite side of the building.
Feature Wall
Situated along the right side of the lobby from the main entrance, this wall extends upward through each floor. It will be used for displays that create a gallery experience on each floor and to define entries to special program areas on the north side of the building.
Special Program Wing
With its elliptical-shaped reading rooms, this portion of the building will serve as a distinctive beacon at the intersection of Third Street and College Avenue. This far northern section of the library will house the Presentation Room, the 24 hour cyber café, the Norbertine Center, special collections and high-tech classrooms.
Main Stacks and Seating
The largest and most open area is located in the center of the building. It features book stacks in the center and seating primarily on the east and west sides along the length of the building.
Service Functions Wing
At the south end of the building, this section houses the Technical Services Suite and the Curriculum Center.
