Announcing St. Norbert College Friends of Music

• A new chapter has opened at St. Norbert College with the formation of St. Norbert College Friends of Music. This newly formed organization will be focusing on the encouragement, support and development of music at St. Norbert College, overall uniting alumni and friends to promote the growth of music at the College. 

• Dr. Michael Rosewall's music reference book, "Directory of Choral-Orchestral Music" will be published by Routledge and on sale this autumn. Dr. Rosewall has also had two choral works recently accepted for publication with Augsburg-Fortress Press: "Come Gracious Spirit," in the Augsburg Choirbook for Women and "Now Thank We All Our God," for mixed chorus. 
  

• Our Steinway grand piano which is used primarily in the choir room, was refinished inside and out during the 2005-06 school year. Thanks to the generosity of Don and Judy Poh and in honor of Father Sromovsky and Nubbie Ecker, the piano underwent a complete reworking of the action and was refinished from its original blonde color to a traditional ebony black. This provides the department with a second performance-quality stage instrument to pair with our 9-foot Mason and Hamlin grand which is housed in the Walter Theatre. Stay tuned for the date of the next two-piano recital.
