Professional profile
Kent Paulsen was promoted to Visiting Instructor of Music and Director of Choirs at St. Norbert College in 2007. Mr. Paulsen joined the St. Norbert music faculty in 2005, where he taught courses in Piano Lab and Sight Singing. Mr. Paulsen has been seen performing and directing at St. Norbert College for many years as he is the Assistant Conductor and Accompanist for the Dudley Birder Chorale of St. Norbert College and has been Music Director for many of the summer Musical Theatre productions for the past 10 years.
Active as a conductor, singer and pianist, Mr. Paulsen is also the Director of Music, Organist and Choir Director at Calvary Lutheran Church, Green Bay, and was the founding conductor for the annual Tribute to Fred Waring performances at the Regency Suites. In 2003, Mr. Paulsen was awarded the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Meritorious Achievement Award for Musical Direction at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Mr. Paulsen is a past winner of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Young Conductor Award. As a pianist, Mr. Paulsen participated in a series of recital programs with a singer from the Metropolitan Opera with performances at Lincoln Center, Boston Conservatory of Music and St. Norbert College. For many years, Mr. Paulsen was the Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master for the Pamiro Opera Company.
