St. Norbert College and Green Bay Packers call for paper/presentation proposals for Sport and Society Conference

Presentation and paper abstracts are now being accepted for the academic conference titled "A Mirror of our Culture: Sport and Society in America," to be held on the St. Norbert College campus and at Lambeau Field on May 26-28, 2010.

This first-of-its-kind partnership between an NFL team and an institution of higher education will bring together academics and business professionals from around the country.

Presentation or paper abstracts are due by Nov. 30, 2009 with notification of acceptances by Jan. 31, 2010 following review by the conference steering committee. St. Norbert College will be publishing the proceedings following the conference. Formal conference registration will open on Feb.1, 2010 and close on April 1, 2010. Registration is limited.

The conference will include an exhibit of sports photography and a film festival. The exhibit will be curated, but there will be "Best of Show" awards given.

Photographic submissions are due by April 1, 2010.

Sports videos or films can be submitted for the film festival. Film submissions are due March 1, 2010. Film award winners will be notified by May 3, 2010.

The two keynote speakers will be announced soon.
