Second annual Cassandra Voss Center benefit concert
Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m.
From St. Norbert College, April 21, 2011
by Mike Counter, mike.counter@snc.edu, (920) 403-3089
Cassandra Voss would have graduated in 2008 as the first St. Norbert College student with a major in women's and gender studies; she lost her life in a car accident in May 2007. Cassandra was an artist, a dreamer, a lover of beauty and a seeker of justice.
The planned Cassandra Voss Center will seek to establish, with collaboration from other college units and organizations, the preeminence of St. Norbert College as a leader in gender equity. To accomplish this, the Center will connect theory, research, experiential learning, co-curricular development, and practical application on matters that pertain to men and women.
The concert will offer the St. Norbert and Greater Green Bay communities a chance to join in celebrating Cassandra's spirit and learn more about the
project.
Award-winning, Nashville-based duo Sam & Ruby gently blend folk, country and soul into a sound that is immediately warm and welcoming.
They tour extensively nationwide and are frequent performers in the Green Bay area.
