Last month, Miss Wisconsin 2011 Laura Kaeppeler won the Miss America Pageant and is now our reigning Miss America! Her first runner-up and the new Miss Wisconsin 2011 Raeanna Johnson and Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen 2011 Annie Jorgensen will be special guests and will perform at the pageant. Miss Wisconsin 2010 Kimberly Sawyer, who won the Miss Wisconsin title with as Miss Green Bay Area, will emcee the pageant. The Miss Green Bay Area Scholarship Pageant and Miss Green Bay Area's Outstanding Teen Pageant are local preliminaries to the Miss Wisconsin and Miss America Scholarship Pageants and Outstanding Teen Pageants.
The Miss Green Bay Area competition is open to young women ages 17 to 24 who are looking to be involved in the Green Bay Area community while earning scholarship money. The stages of the Miss Green Bay Area Scholarship Pageant are private interview, lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit, talent, evening wear, and on-stage question. Contestants also must choose a platform/topic they will build on throughout the year to improve their community.
The Miss Green Bay Area's Outstanding Teen pageant is for girls ages 13 to 17 and encourages positive achievement while helping to nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement of our youth. This competition includes private interview, talent, fitness apparel, formal wear and on-stage question, and scholastic achievement at the state level of competition. Contestants also must choose a platform/topic they will build on throughout the year to improve their community.
The Miss Green Bay Area and Miss America Organizations provide opportunities for young women to make a difference in their community and promote a platform they believe in. It also helps young women to develop themselves and their futures, while providing scholarship money to further their education.
