Language Services at St. Norbert College to Offer January Classes

St. Norbert College Language Services will hold the following events in January for the general public:

Polish Heritage Workshop: Saturday, Jan. 9, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Assumption BVM School in Pulaski. You will learn a deeper understanding of the Polish culture. The cost is $30 per person. Registration deadline is Jan. 4.

Digging Fossils: Saturday, Jan. 23, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on the St. Norbert College campus. Deborah Anderson, associate professor of biology at St. Norbert, will share her experience and research on climate change and rodent evolution. The cost is $30 per person. Registration deadline is Jan. 15.

Adult Non-credit Language Classes: run for 8 weeks beginning Jan. 18 through March 10 on the St. Norbert campus. Choose from American Sign Language, (ASL) Chinese, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish. The cost is $160 including instruction and materials.

Indian Cooking- Chutneys and Masalas: Tuesday, Jan. 26, 5-7:30 p.m. on the St. Norbert campus. Chefs Dan Froelich and David deRoche will teach you all about this Indian cuisine. The cost is $40 per person. Registration deadline is Jan. 18.

Healthy Meals Using Chicken: Wednesday, Jan. 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the UW-Extension kitchen in Green Bay. Led by local chef Jon Lutgen, you will learn how to prepare nutritious meals using chicken, paring protein with starch and a vegetable. The cost is $35 per person. Registration deadline is Jan. 19.

The aBy's of Radioactivity: Saturday, Jan. 30, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on the St. Norbert campus. Michael Olson, assistant professor of physics at St. Norbert, will lead class discussion on the myth that cellphones cause cancer. Olson will also demonstrate live radiation measurements. The cost is $30 per person. Registration deadline is Jan. 21.
