St. Norbert College community band concert

DE PERE: The St. Norbert College Music Department will present the Community Band concert on Monday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts. This concert will feature local musicians from the Green Bay and the St. Norbert College community, who are specifically invited by band director Frederick Schmidt.

Under the direction of Frederick Schmidt, the Community Band will perform works by Eric Osterling, Ludwig van Beethoven, Otto Nicolai, Robert Ward, and Roger Cichy.

The St. Norbert College Community Band concert will also feature guest saxophone soloist, Rhett Bender. Bender is an Associate Professor of Music at Southern Oregon University, where he teaches saxophone, clarinet, music theory, and serves as a graduate faculty member for the American Band College. In addition to his teaching career, Bender can also be found as the feature artist on the seven volume CD set,
