Community kick-off event for Amercian Cancer Society Relay for Life of De Pere at St. Norbert College

DE PERE: A community kickoff event is scheduled for 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Sensenbrenner Union, Room 101 B, at St. Norbert College for the ninth annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of De Pere event.

The community kickoff is an informational meeting for anyone interested in learning more about the relay or forming a team to participate.

The April 8 relay raises money for the American Cancer Society. The all day event involves teams of eight to 15 volunteers from throughout the area.

Participants continuously circle a track at the St. Norbert College campus to raise pledge money. Last year, 50 teams participated in the event and helped raise approximately $80,000 to help fund research and fight cancer. For more information, call Lisa Valenta at 338-1541 ext. 124.
