DE PERE: The Peace and Justice Center of St. Norbert College will receive the 2005 Community Service Award from the Mediation Center of Greater Green Bay. The annual award honors an individual or group within Brown County who has performed extraordinary service in promoting dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflict.

The Peace and Justice Center of St. Norbert College was founded in 1998, on the 100th anniversary of the College, through a grant from the St. Norbert Abbey. The staff includes the current director, Sr. Sally Ann Brickner, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross; Staff Assistant Patti Cole; and 5-6 student workers. The Center promotes the building of community locally and globally, through its understanding of the Gospel, the social teaching of the Catholic Church, and recognition of the human dignity of all people.
