Riley is a scholar on rock n' roll and has written several books on The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Madonna and many others. He is an expert on censorship and First Amendment rights and has contributed to the National Public Radio's "Here and Now," "All Things Considered," and "Morning Edition."
In his presentation, Riley will explore the controversy around our coarsening popular media and examines how these issues relate to freedom and responsibility in American life, bringing incisive critical perspective to the underlying class, race and sexual orientation themes. The St. Norbert College speaker's committee and Y.E.S (Your Entertainment Service) are the sponsors for the presentation.
