The Mel Nicks Award

Mel Nicks, a faculty member at St. Norbert for 26 years, was a coach, athletics administrator, teacher and humanitarian. He had the idea to build a baseball diamond, a softball diamond and practice football fields in the 1960s, which are known today as the Mel Nicks Sports Complex.

The Mel Nicks Award recognizes one male and one female student each year who demonstrate active service, leadership and volunteerism within the college and/or span of the global community.
