HHMI Grant Proposal
St. Norbert College was invited to submit a proposal for a prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute undergraduate science education grant. Larry Scheich led the grant development process working with Deb Anderson, David Bailey, and Kari Cunningham. The proposal was submitted October 4th with a request for $1.6 million over 4 years to support a range of science programs and activities. Thank you to everyone who assisted with the grant writing process. It was truly a team effort!
New Web Pages The Grant Development website has three new pages, Areas of Interest, Grants in Progress, and Grant History.
The Areas of Interest page is a result of conversations during the August Conference on Scholarship. Many faculty and staff are interested in collaborating across departments and division; however, they may not be aware of their colleagues' areas of interest and expertise. This site will keep you abreast of your colleagues' research. I hope it leads to greater cooperation and the submission of stronger, more diverse grants. If you are not included on the list please email me your interest area and I will add it. I plan to update the list regularly.
The Grants in Progress page provides an up to date list of grantseeking activity at the College. I have listed all the grants that have been submitted since June 1, 2010 as well as grants we plan to submit in the upcoming months. The latter is subject to change as grants may not be submitted or may be altered or proposed to a different funder.
The Grant History page is an overview of all grant activity at SNC for the last ten years. Information on funder, project, project director or team and grant total are provided. I've also indicated which grants are currently being funded by highlighting them in red.
Join the Faculty Grant Discussion List St. Norbert College now has its own internal grants discussion list for faculty. If you would like to receive periodic grant announcements and/or would like to post your grant-related questions or ideas, please contact Sarah Ryan for more information.
