Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Old St. Joseph Church website for the members and friends of St. Norbert College Parish. As you will see as you navigate throughout the site, we are a very active college parish made up of 2,100 students coupled with 380 households who celebrate active ties to our college community.
Established in 1969 as the first college parish in the United States, our liturgies–the ’font and summit’ of our parish life together–welcome people of all ages from all parts of northeastern Wisconsin, from the Midwest and beyond!
While the information presented here gives you an idea of who we are, how we worship and how we serve as a community of faith, a visit to our church will give you a much more accurate and spirited introduction as to what makes us a rather unique, Catholic church rooted in the Norbertine tradition. Towards that end, do know that our doors are always open to you–you are most welcome!
Yours in Ss. Norbert and Joseph,
Father James Baraniak, O. Praem. Pastor of St. Norbert College Parish |

Who belongs to the St. Norbert College Parish? Catholic students automatically become members of the campus parish. All members of the St. Norbert College community can attend any Mass. Many of our faculty and staff members are active parishioners. We also have 380 households who worship with us weekly and participate in our programs.
The most visible aspect of our tradition is our communal worship, which is centered in Old St. Joseph Church–the oldest building on campus. We strive to offer rich liturgical experiences by inviting active participation by everyone in order to enhance the faith experience. All are welcome.
