Religious Education

Generations of Faith
Generations of Faith is an intergenerational experience for everyone at St. Norbert College Parish, promoting lifelong faith formation, engaging all generations to learn together and share in the life of the parish.

Generations of Faith provides the opportunity to gather the whole parish to learn, pray and share, which benefits our community life and individual growth. Whether you are a child, a student, a young adult, a middle-aged adult or retired person, there is something in Generations of Faith for you!

This year, the parish's monthly "Faith Festival" will look more closely at Following Jesus. The sessions will provide opportunities to strengthen one's commitment to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ, and prepare all ages to actively participate in these events; connecting catechesis with liturgy, justice and prayer.

To assist parent(s) to be the primary evangelizers at home, home packets are prepared each month to continue the theme throughout the month. For more information, please contact Peg Vande Hey at (920) 403-3474 or peg.vandehey@snc.edu.

Imagine what the world might have been like during the time of Jesus. Journey through the interactive village.

NOVEMBER 7, 2007
Preparing for the Messiah
The season of Advent challenges us to examine our understanding of and expectations for the Messiah. It calls us to reflect on our own readiness and openness to welcome the Messiah into our lives and our world.

*DECEMBER 5, 2007
Becoming a Disciple
This session explores the dynamics of becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ: experiencing a personal call, following Jesus, and changing our hearts. Inspired by the New Testament disciples and the example of Jesus, we'll discover what it means to follow Jesus today and how we can, in a practical way, live out discipleship in our lives and homes
*Meet at Old St. Joseph Church, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Bring a dessert to share.

JANUARY 9, 2008

FEBRUARY 13, 2008
Dying to Self
This session explores the meaning and significance of Jesus' death on the cross. Explore the Gospels to identify the reasons Jesus was sentenced to death and crucified. Discover what meaning and significance Jesus' death has for our lives as Catholics. Live a life of commitment to God's will, modeled on Jesus' commitment to doing God's will no matter what the cost.

MARCH 12, 2008
New Life in Christ
This session explores the meaning of Jesus' Resurrection for our lives as disciples. Belief in the Resurrection is at the center of the Catholic faith. All other beliefs hinge on the Resurrection. It also guides us in applying this understanding to our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ today.

APRIL 2, 2008
Identity of Christ
This session helps us understand that the identity of Christ - as true God and true man - is rooted in the Gospels. We believe in Jesus Christ who is both God and Man, "true God from true God," and who "suffered, died and was buried" and rose from the dead.

APRIL 30, 2008
Living as a Disciple
This session explores what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. At the heart of living as a disciple is shaping our lives on the pattern of Jesus' life. This is no simple process, and there is no one correct way of expressing the pattern of Christ's life in our own. We can discover practices for living our everyday lives as disciples of Jesus Christ.

COSTS
SNC college students are welcome to attend without paying a fee. The registration fee for the year is $95 for a family, $75 for a couple and $55 for singles. Costs include monthly take-home packets. Checks can be made payable to "St. Norbert College Parish." (An additional donation will be asked to cover the cost of the meals - no charge for college students).

Registration deadline for attending all eight Faith Festivals is October 1, 2007 or register as early as possible for individual sessions. Please return the form to the parish office (PAC, Room 110) or call 920-403-3012 to register by phone.
