Peace and Justice

Advent Wrapping Party Advent Candle Project
Each year, our students and parish families serve numerous local families, senior citizens and social service agencies during the holidays. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways: planning committee, collecting and sorting donations, wrapping gifts and delivering holiday boxes. The highlight of the project is a huge wrapping party in the first part of December. This is a wonderful way that the campus and parish communities work together to be of service to those in our local areas. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Carol Guyette at (920) 336-5362.

FUVIRESE
The name FUVIRESE is an acronym made up of the letters which form its name. Fundacion de Vida, Realidad y Servico (the foundation of life, reality and service). FUVIRESE is a cooperative organization with membership open to any handicapped adult or child living in the region of Banos. For more information, contact John Day at (920) 403-3450 or john.day@snc.edu or visit the FUVIRESE website.

Knitting for Peace
Veteran and novice knitters, young or old, fellow parishioners gather monthly to knit baby blankets, hats, mittens, prayer shawls... to assist parishioners who might benefit from some homemade comfort of home amidst moments of living and dying. It is a beautiful and tangible way to keep our beloved parishioners in our thoughts and prayers. Please contact Rita Dufour at (920) 499-8708 if you are interested.

New Community Shelter/House of Hope
Each month, students from St. Norbert College and members of the parish community donate and serve food at House of Hope and the New Community Shelter. If you are interested in donating food or serving food, contact Sharon Zuleger at (920) 338-8281.

Zambia Project
Founded in fall 2001, The Zambia Project provides hope through education for Zambia's most vulnerable children. The Zambia Project raises money for the Zambia Open Community Schools which provide a basic education to children who would not otherwise have an opportunity to go to school. For more information, contact Corday Goddard at (920) 403-3360 or corday.goddard@snc.edu. Visit the Zambia Project website.
