Belgian Pie-Making

You can experience “a piece” of local Belgian culture, the Belgian pie!

St. Norbert College Language Services is presenting a Belgian pie-making workshop. In this Saturday workshop, Door County native and Belgian pie expert Gina Wautier will reveal the history behind the pastry.

Students will learn how to make several kinds of Belgian pies in a hands-on setting. Students should come prepared to feast on the pies made during class. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome.

The Belgian pie is a sweet raised dough crust that is filled with several variations. Fillings consist of either a baked rice mixture similar to rice pudding topped with whipping cream or a fruit center of prunes, apples, or raisins with a cheesecake like topping made from blended cottage cheese.

Class sizes are limited to ensure maximum hands-on participation!
